Mother Language Day with Alhierd Bacharevič and Julia Cimafiejeva, 21 February 14:00, the Skaryna Library, London
The Anglo-Belarusian Society’s traditional celebration of International Mother Language Day will take place on 21 February 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Skaryna Library, 37 Holden Rd, London N12 8HS.
Established by UNESCO, this day aims to promote awareness of cultural traditions based on mutual understanding, tolerance and dialogue. This has become especially important in modern times, when the reluctance of some to respect the linguistic and cultural traditions of others leads to war and conflict.
This year our guests will be Alhierd Bacharevič and Julia Cimafiejeva, appearing online.
Admission is free upon registration: Eventbrite link , but donations to the Anglo-Belarusian Society would be gratefully received.
Please don’t forget to register for this event, to enable the organisers to cater adequately at the reception for all participants!
