Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, has died aged 99

Condolence message

The Council of the Anglo-Belarusian Society on behalf of its membership sends its deepest sympathy and condolences to Her Majesty the Queen on the sad loss of her husband, Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, being a member of the Greek branch of the Oldenburg Dynasty, was connected to the lands which are now Belarus through his bloodline. The warm feelings and interest which he had for the people and culture of Belarus were greatly appreciated, and will be sadly missed by our membership.
